San Diego FC Partners with Chula Vista FC to Help Grow the Beautiful Game in San Diego County

SAN DIEGO (Friday, Jan. 3, 2025) – San Diego FC (SDFC) is proud to announce a partnership with Chula Vista FC to deepen both Club’s commitment to youth development in San Diego County and to introduce Major League Soccer to the Chula Vista community.

Chula Vista FC has been operating in San Diego County for 43 years and currently has 48 teams and 900 players across all programs. As SDFC kicks off its inaugural season in MLS in 2025, this partnership greatly benefits both club’s long-standing passion for the game in San Diego County, which is widely known as a hotbed for players, fans and fan engagement.

“Chula Vista FC is proud to partner with San Diego FC to strengthen our commitment to player development and community engagement,” said Chula Vita FC Academy Director Hector Diaz. “As the County’s longest-standing soccer club, offering youth and adult teams, we have provided a complete pathway for players to aspire to. Since there was an absence of MLS in San Diego, we created an adult team for our players to aim for, ensuring they had role models and opportunities within their community. Now, with San Diego FC, professional soccer is here to stay, inspiring a new generation to dream of representing their city at the highest level.”

SDFC’s objective is to support Chula Vista FC with programming that enhances Chula Vista FC’s strengths and provides increased opportunities for players and families to experience the game. SDFC and Chula Vista FC will be in touch with their communities soon with more details about the partnership.

“Chula Vista FC has long been a pillar in the local soccer community, fostering a deep passion for the game among players and families,” said Bill Miles, COO of SDFC and Executive Director of SDFC’s Right to Dream Academy. “At SDFC, we are proud to partner with a club that shares our vision for development and inclusivity. Together, we will build pathways that inspire the next generation of players and strengthen the foundation of soccer in San Diego.”

Both Clubs look forward to growing the game in San Diego and beyond. Please join SDFC in 2025 at Snapdragon Stadium to celebrate SDFC’s historical inaugural season! To check out SDFC’s 2025 schedule, please visit SanDiegoFC.com/schedule.
