Chula Vista FC’s MLS Next B2007’s goalkeeper, Emilio Silva signed a pro contract with Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente. Emilio had this to say: “I am very happy and very calm because I believe it was the right moment in my life to have signed the contract. I will give my everything to represent the name of Chula Vista in a good way.” Silva is also thankful to Chula Vista FC and its staff: “Playing in Chula Vista FC increased my confidence a lot. I learned many things tactically and technically. I want to thank my coaches who saw potential in me and helped me improve.”
Emilio’s parents are very happy and very supportive. Emilio’s mother, Yendi Silva, said: “I am very proud for Emilio’s discipline and persistence. As long as he is doing well, I will support him all the way.”
Emilio’s Head Coach, Fernando Mares, had this to say: “As a coach who loves to develop players, it is always a pleasure to see one of our players pursue their dreams and witness their development over the years. It’s very exciting to see how he has progressed, and I hope to assist more of our players in reaching those levels.”
Chula Vista FC’s goalkeepers coach, Mario Miranda, was also very happy for Emilio: “Emilio has been with our MLS Next’s GK program for 4 years. Emilio has been a hard-working leader on the pitch.
