Chula Vista FC accomplishes lots of historic firsts on the first weekend of the Fall Season!!
Chula Vista FC has always been known for always performing at a high level with their Boys Program. However, this year, the Girls Program is getting their feet wet playing for the first time at the Development Player League (DPL), which is a highly competitive, elite-level girls’ youth soccer league in the United States. The league functions as a significant proving ground for players aspiring to reach the highest levels of collegiate play.
And our Girls teams responded to the challenge with great results. Making club history with the first ever win at a highly competitive win were our G2013 girls beating SoCal Elite, 1-0 on a goal by Angelyn De Leon. Following the G2013s game, our G2010s girls also delivered another 1-0 win over SoCal Elite with a goal scored by Aceana Jenkins. These were exciting times for these girls, coaches, parents and of course Chula Vista FC. And even if a victory was not obtained by our G2007 squad, they enter the club’s record book as the first team to play in the DPL.
Not only did the Girls Program got historic firsts, but the Boys program also delivered with some of their own. Playing on MLS Next’s brand-new Academy Division, our U13s squad came up with a convincing 7-0 victory over TFA in the league’s inaugural season. At the same time our U19s also delivered a 2-1 win. Our U14s tried hard and came up with a tight 0-0 tie. The squad that entered the club’s record book as the first team to play MLS Next academy was our U15 squad.
Our other Boys teams also obtained other first wins. Our U13 started their MLS Next Homegrown Division’s journey with a smashing 10-1 win. On a side note, ALL Homegrown Division teams won their games to have a clean sweep in this weekend’s series against Las Vegas Soccer Academy.
Exciting firsts no doubt for our upper tier’s competitive teams no doubt.
