Our Chula Vista FC MLS Next B2008 (U16) team is ready to start their participation in the MLS Next Flex tournament in Boyds, Maryland starting tomorrow, Friday.
The team’s Head Coach, Jose Antonio Govea, had this to say about the tournament: ‘MLS Next Flex is something special. There’s lots of emotion and passion so I am curious to see what this event brings out in the team. We still have to compete this weekend and demonstrate the values that Chula Vista FC stands for. ‘
The team qualified for the tournament by having an outstanding, 14-4-0, MLS Flex record. On his team’s success, Coach Govea had this to say: ‘I feel much credit goes to the coaches before me and staff for providing an atmosphere where the boys can excel in. The families of our players as well. Their sacrifice does not go unnoticed.’ The team had an amazing 9-game winning streak during the season.
The boys will face St Louis City SC tomorrow (Friday), Athletum FC on Saturday and Ballistic United on Monday.
